Let the Season Begin.......

Yesterday I had the privilage of being a part of John Knox Presbterian Churches Christmas Festival. It was a great show. The atmosphere was very sweet and the people were awesome.  Lots of great artists were there and I was able to meet all of them. I was able to get some homemade soap from Soaps by Sara and I was able to get Christmas presents for two sweet little girls. Some ladies had made some Santa Clause faces out of  small gourds. I hope the church has a spring sale and I get invited to be a part of it. Thanks to all who came out and bought some pottery from me. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them. Each piece that I make is  hand turned on the pottery wheel which makes for a truly unique piece.

I made some plates when I returned home and my husband got creative and did some marbeling effect on them. They are going to be beautiful.

For this Christmas season I'm making some bisque pieces and anyone who wants to come up to the studio and paint some pottery you can make an appointment and have fun doing your own creations. My pieces are high fired so they are dishwasher, microwave, and oven safe. Kids love doing this, but you don't have to be a kid. All are welcome.

If you are able, I have some pieces on display at Buffalo Creek Art Gallery in Shelby, North Carolina. The pieces are in the window and they have been glazed in deep firebrick red and butterscotch. ( Love them together.)

In Boiling Springs, North Carolina I have some pieces in the Broad River Coffee and Cone. They have a art shop in the coffee shop.  It has some local artists creations there that you can purchase. Hope you can get there to look around.  It's a really cool place to buy some Christmas gifts.

I'm going to have a spot at the Appalachain Potters Market.  I can't wait as this will be my first year in this event.  I hope it goes great.  The date for this event is December 7, 2013 in the McDowell High School gymnasium and commons area.  Marion is located 10 minutes morth of I-40, one hour west of Hickory, 45 minutes east of Asheville, and 45 minutes south of the Blue Ridge Parkway.  A Comfort Inn is located a half mile from the market location and a Hampton Inn is on 221S about five miles from the market location. I hope to see you there!

I want to say THANKS to my friends and family who always support my pottery endeavors.
